AI Tracking Setup for Tag Manager and GA4

Connect (about 3 minutes, once per website)

1. Install SourceXray on the website first. We use your SourceXray script to prove the website is yours.
2. Copy our connection email: connect@sourcexray.iam.gserviceaccount.com. Google lets you share access with an email address, so we never need your Google password.
3. In Tag Manager open Admin, User Management, click +, Add users, paste the email, set the container permission to Publish and click Invite.
4. Prove the container is yours: in the same container open Variables, under User-Defined Variables click New, choose Constant, name it SourceXray key, paste your site key and save. No need to publish. You can skip this if SourceXray is already installed through this container.
5. In Google Analytics open Admin, Property access management, click +, Add users, paste the email, choose Editor and click Add.
6. In SourceXray open AI Setup, enter your container ID (GTM-XXXXXXX) and GA4 property ID (numbers only, under Admin, Property details), and click Connect and verify.

Is my account safe if everyone shares one email?

Yes. Every SourceXray customer shares the one connection address, but only our servers can use it, and only on the container and property you prove are yours. A container must contain your own site key, and a GA4 property must have a web stream for your website's domain. Each container and property can only be connected to one SourceXray workspace, so nobody else can connect them, see them or change them.

Safe by design

• It is built never to send personal details (names, emails, phone numbers) to GA4.

Disconnect

Remove the connection email from Tag Manager User Management and GA4 Property access management at any time. Our access ends immediately, and the tags we added stay in your container until you delete them.
